I am sure there situations where any skill is useful, especially depending on the race. On reaching a threshold a player will be able to roll to level up, with the roll determining the options which are available. If your roll is 10 you can choose MA or AV, on 11 you can choose AG, and on a 12 you can choose ST.

Min-maxing is where you drop/dont replace lost players and have a team of 5-6 high skilled players, with the rest being replaced with journymen as the rules dictate.
